Can homebuyers/ allottees claim compensation by filing complaints after they have executed conveyance deed with the builders?

Deed of conveyance is executed by the builder in favour of the buyer certifying conveyance / transfer of all the rights and title in respect of the property.

Yes, homebuyers/ allottees can claim compensation by filing complaints after execution of conveyance deed. The Supreme Court observed that it would be manifestly unreasonable to expect that in order to pursue a claim for compensation for delayed handing over of possession, the purchaser must indefinitely defer obtaining a conveyance of the premises purchased or, if they seek to obtain a Deed of Conveyance to forsake the right to claim compensation. Hence, the court allowed homebuyers to claim compensation even after execution of conveyance deed. [Refer Wg. Cdr. Arifur Rahman Khan & Ors. vs. DLF Southern Homes Pvt. Ltd.
